Dear Ziro Community,

We are extremely excited to share with you that we have finally started shipping Ziro kits, starting with US customers. We hope to start shipping to our international customers as soon as possible, as we are working through customs clearances. We have already emailed to most of the US customers to confirm their shipping addresses and glove sizes. We have already shipped to some of our customers who have sent messages saying they really love how the kits came out and it was worth the wait. We are working hard to ship to all the US customers before Christmas. We will keep you posted. Thanks for your patience and support.

Regards,

Raja

Dear Ziro community,

Here is the latest update on Ziro. Our shipping got delayed because we had to reprint one of the minor plastic parts in the kit. We also have been working on creating tutorial videos and other content needed to be able to learn how to use Ziro. We are a small team so all this has taken some time. We hope to start shipping soon. Prior to shipping, you all will receive emails to confirm shipping address the size of the glove. Please lookout for that email. We will keep you posted. Thanks for your patience.

Regards,

Team Ziro

Dear Ziro Community,

Here is the latest update on Ziro. The  shipments from China cleared customs and are finally in our warehouse. We are doing thorough quality control (QC) on all the kits. We also have made lots of improvements on the software - so we are updating the modules with the latest software. We are also creating lots of content to help our users get up to speed with the full capabilities of the kit once they receive it. We will start shipping  as soon as we are done with all these activities. We will keep you posted.

Here is a sneak peek of a couple of robots that we made with the kit. Hope you enjoy them.

Best regards,

Raja

Dear Ziro Community,

We are very thrilled to let you know that finally our production is coming to a successful completion. Over the last few weeks we finished the injection molding of all the plastic parts, assembly and testing of everything. It has taken longer because we decided to test each and every unit through multiple gating stages to make sure everything works well. We optimized for quality and reliability over time. This week we are packing all the kits and preparing them for shipping over sea from China to US next week. So by the end of this week the production will be completed. If everything goes well with customs etc we are estimated to get it in our warehouse towards the 2nd half of next month. After some final checks and testing to make sure everything is fine during transportation etc. we will start shipping to our customers.

This has been a long and arduous grind in China to get our first production under our belt, but we are finally at the finish line and it feels great. We are super thrilled with how the product has come out and we can't wait for you to experience it soon.

We have learnt a great deal during this long but rewarding journey so far. Though Ziro makes robots simple and accessible to everyone, it is a highly sophisticated product in terms of the capabilities and the underlying technology. We had to develop everything in house to make it affordable for everyone. For example we had to develop our own smart IoT servo motor system with our own gear box, gear train and control systems, OS and Middleware etc. We had to develop a proprietary super strong material for the gears. This tech is the magic sauce that makes robotics  plug and play. We had to develop a custom integrated sensor fusion solution for the magic gesture glove. We had to develop an integrated charging solution to make the charging experience simple for our users. We had to develop a unique construction and connector system that enables our users to design and build strong and sturdy large scale robots without the need for any tools. This required high precision press fits in many aspects of the product. It took many iterations to get the mold tolerances exactly right for all these press fits. They can not be too tight or too lose but have to be just right. We also wanted all the components, whether they are visible to users or not, to be very clean, robust and strong, No wiggling, no mess etc. Everything is designed to be aesthetically beautiful and amazing looking. We set ourselves a very high quality bar (think Apple) for the product which means longer production times. Since this is our first production run we also did over testing of everything with lot of redundancy. In terms of manufacturing complexity, Ziro falls somewhere between high end toy robot products and utility robots. It is truly one of its kind so we needed to design special processes and tools for its production. There was a lot to figure out, but we did it. We hope this gives you some understanding of the lengthy production process. We are all very proud of the final Ziro we are able to bring to you. We are confident all of you will love it.

Please find some more of our production pics. Hope you are enjoying them. We will let you know once we receive the units in the US. Thanks for your continued support and patience.

Regards,

Raja
